Dear Mrs. Johnson,
I am Alexander. I heard you are a great writer so we wrote to you. We are doing a project on letter writing to become better writers. I don’t like letter writing, but we have to do it or we will have to face his wrath (at least that is what he said) so I do it anyway. Anyway, we hoped you would write some tips to us.
The project that we are doing is from the book “Dear Mr.Henshaw”. The book is about a boy that has a favorite author and he writes letters to the author. However, so far there is no story, we have only read letters. It is as if the letters are telling the story. I think the story is okay except I don’t like the part with his mother making him answer the authors questions. I don’t think he should have to do that if it stupid, sarcastic questions if he doesn’t want to. On our project we also have to tell some things about us.
Who are you?
I am Alexander. I really like to collect things. I have collected bionicles since I was 6. I don't like math, I kind of like spelling, and I like sports. I moved here when I was 8. I have come from Greece and I am from Denmark. I moved to Greece when I was 4 or 5.
Fondly, Alexander

Dear Mrs. Johnson,
I hope you got my last letter. Please write some tips on how to write stories and work with other people. That would be great. Or you could just write a letter to the class. We have 10 questions that we need to write so you will get 10 letters from every person in the class. You can see all the letters from me on http://wesalexander.wikispaces.com/My+Notes. Here is some more about me:
What do you look like?
I am pretty normal sized and have glasses. I have greenish brownish eyes and blond hair. You will usually see me wearing sports shirts. I play the viola, and I don't like to practice but I like to play. I go to Denmark every summer. I have never liked to be a tourist in other countries because people might look at me weirdly, so since I am going to Spain this summer, I hope I will get rid of that habit. You will probably not see me wearing a tie anytime, because they are so tight around my throat. Have you seen me in school?
If you think these letters are bothering you, will you say so? If you are busy it is okay if you don’t write back. 8 more letters to go!
Happily, Alexander
Alexander

Dear Mrs.Johnson,
I wish you would respond. We read more in the book today. In the beginning of this book, I didn't think I would like it, but it turned out fine.
Here is the next question in it
What is your family like?
My mom is Danish and my dad is American. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother and they annoy me a lot. I am a twin to my sister, Emma, and my older brother and sister are twins too.
Please respond, Alexander

Dear Miss .Johnson,
We are still doing the project. This is the next question: Do you have a pet?
Yes. Her name is Cecilia. She is a weird type of breed and I can’t spell it. She is a very calm dog except when she hears arguing. She does not fetch stuff but she really likes to be petted. She is a good dog.
Hope you respond, Alexander
Dear Mrs. Johnson,
The story is very interesting now. The favorite author is Mr. Henshaw, and we are wondering if Leigh gets to meet him Leigh wrote a story for young authors, and Roy and I predicted that Leigh would win and that the famous author is Mr. Henshaw. But it turned out we were wrong.
What bothers you?
There is one thing that bothers me. Alex. He is really annoying these days. He suddenly didn’t want to be my friend because he said I bragged. Now he is just against me. 1 week ago, I thought he was my friend, but he has known I play piano. Then he asked Roy if he wanted to play piano with him in next year’s variety show. Roy said no, but he still knows I play piano. Now I feel like punching him in the face. Life at home is good. School is OK (except for boring math). That is the only problem.
